Post by Graciela Garzón on Dec 10, 2005 21:01:58 GMT -5
Name: Graciela Andrea Álvarez de Garzón
Nicknames: G.G., Grace (GRAH-say), Graci (GRAH-see)
Age: 26
Blood: Half ((I think. Her mother was 100% Hispanic Veela, and her father was pureblood))
Birthday: February 2
Previous House: N/A ((She did not attend Hogwarts. If she had attended Hogwarts, she would be a Hufflepuff, and I think that you would agree))
Position Wanted: Headmistress, Charms Professor, School Nurse
Special Abilities: 1/2 Hispanic Veela, highly qualified in several areas
Personality: Graciela is a kind person. She would rarely hurt a fly. Graciela is not usually mean and evil because she has no reason to be, however, if she needs to, she will get an attitude and a smart mouth. She is also caring. Graciela cares for the health and well-being of people around her and people that she does not know, even. She likes to make sure that everyone is cared for. If someone needs money, help on work, etc, she will help them in any way possible. Other than that, Graciela is respectful of others and considerate of things that people want to keep private. She will not intrude into your privacy unless she needs to for some reason (which is rare). She is also modest and has a large amount of integrity. She does not like cheaters and people that cannot respect themselves. She is also loyal, a truthful person, and somewhat brave when she needs to be. She is a VERY intelligent person, a good leader, and a good educator. Her cleverness can get the best od her sometimes though. She is friendly to those that seem nice and will befriend anyone that wants to be her friend.
Personal History: Graciela was born in Bilbao in northern Spain. Her mother was a 100% Hispanic Veela from Colombia, and her father was a pureblood wizard from Mexico that worked as Deputy Minister of Magic for Spanish-Speaking Countries. Her mother and father met when her mother had to go to a Ministry hearing in Mexico (for her sister who had gotten into trouble and needed a witness). There, her parents met and later moved back to Spain together. They married and had 6 children: Graciela, Margarita, Felipe, Alma, David, and María. Graciela is the oldest of all the children.
At age six, she started at a school in Spain and learned about the basics with her friends. Then at age eleven, she went to a school in Madrid like all the children and Spain were supposed to. There she learned the more about the magic as well as how to use it and its purposes. She also got a wand, and she was made to take English like all of the children that went to school at the age eleven (a few took French as well; she was amongst them).
After graduating from school at the age of seventeen, she went in search of a job. She found one as a teacher in a school that was located in Barcelona, Spain. She taught students at the ages from eleven to thirteen about charms and potions as well as some healing and much about the importance of magic and why it is separated from the Muggle world. She also taught some English and French in other places, but she did not teach that for long because her English and French were not as clear as they needed to be.
After teaching for a few years, she went in search of an adult school. She found one in England. She then took a train and met a man name Marcos Garzón that was looking for the same thing she was - an adult school and a life away from home. They both grew closer together and later married each other. At that time, she was 24, and he was 27.
After attending the school and receiving high marks in most of the topics that she had taken, then approved her with a certificate of succession in several subjects as well as allowed her to be a citizen of England along with her husband. They also gave her a license to Apparate and another for being an Animagus.
She is now in search of a job as a professor at a school. She currently resides in Birmingham, England with her husband.
Subject Scores: This is an extra category that I added. It shows her scores while she was a child in school as well as her scores in her adult schools. In the "Extra Curriculums" category, the mind reading that she got 'E' in is rarely used for a 'just-because' reason. If she reads the mind of another, it is for a reason, a good reason. And the book publication was learning to publish a book and the new potion and spells was her being able to make up new potions and spells that actually work. And the foreign category was for English and French potions and spells that would work.

Appearance: I am going to be using the Shakira with wavy blonde hair ((by the time you read this, I might have it in my signature, but I am not sure yet.))
Hobbies: She enjoys singing, danging, reading, writing, and drawing landscapes, making new potions and spells,
Likes: She likes to enforce rules, educate people, read, sing, dance, swim, meet new people, Having fun, help others. She likes a person that can have fun and enjoy life, rather than put things at a minimum. She likes to be fair and equal unless she envies someone so much that she wants to kill them (this is rare). She also enjoys spending time with her husband, and she loves kids.
Dislikes: Being treated like an idiot or less that an equal. She hates being talked down to by people that are older than her, and especially those that are younger than her. She dislikes people that want someone else to help them, but they cannot help themselves. She does not like people that take advantage of her, whether it be a guy taking advantage of her looks or a student getting answers from her. She does not like people that take advantage of others, and she dislikes people being predjucided against another because of blood, race, ethnicity, gender, etc.
RP Sample: ((Hope that it's okay. I know it's kinda long and boring, but it was a quickie that took me about 20 minutes to think up and another 40 to type. Also, I apologize for a mild bit of godmonning that I used in it. I just wanted to make it kind of long. Trust me, I do not godmon in real RP posts. It envies me when people do it, so I don't do it at all!)) Graciela walked into a dark room. It was her charms classroom at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The room was a large room, but it was filled with many things that the size of the room seemed to be really small. In the far corner, Graciela's bed sat with her knitted blanket that her grandmother had given her years ago along with a satin blanket that she had inherited from her great-grandmother as a gift of passing. Beside the bed sat a small table with a picture of both Graciela and her husband, Marcos, at their home in Birmingham a few weeks prior the present day. Beside that picture was a picture of both her family and his all standing together talking and having a good time; they had been in Spain about two years ago when Graciela and Marcos had gotten married. Then there was a desk with a small lantern sitting on it, lit. There were books, oh so many books, sitting stacked atop one another and there was also spare bites of parchment and an ink bottle with a quill.
Graciela stepped further into the room and over to her trunk. She had just completed the hard task of rearranging the charms class and making everything look nice for the arrival of students. Exhausted, she opened her trunk and pulled out her night robes. She unbottoned her robes and then let them fall to the floor. She pulled her nightgowm over her head and buttoned it, letting her hair down afterwards. The light from the lantern glowed over her tannish face and reflected some light from her hair as well.
Graciela walked over to the desk and sat down in the seat. She dipped her quill in ink and poised the quill over a piece of parchment. She then began to write, letting the quill scratch the paper. She was writing a letter to her husband. The quill moved quickly and easily over the parchment. She paused every now and then to be sure that it sounded okay since she was thinking in English and writing in Spanish. Her quill curved as her hand curved and formed letters neatly and curled across the paper. Finally, she was finished. She looked at her note that she had just written. She read over it many times before folding it and writing the address on it. She walked across the room next to the closet where her owl's cage sat. She opened it and fed Patria a treat and set her off into the night to deliver the letter. She watched Patria fly until she could no longer be seen.
She turned and looked at the rest of the room. She sighed and sat on the bed, reaching to the floor and opening another cage. A small white persian kitty walked out and meowed at her and then jumped onto the bed beside her. Graciela petted the cat's head and smiled, then she spoke to the cat.
"Amora, tú eres una gata buena." ((Spanish means: Amora, you are a good gat.))She said in Spanish with her accent perfect. Her voice was soft, like the cat's fur. She smiled and looked out at the full moon. She knew that her husband Marcos was looking at the same moon as he workled late at the Ministry. She sat the cat on the bed and stood. She walked to the door and out of the office, returning with the list of students that she was going to have. She closed the door once she walked back in and sat at her desk again. She jotted down notes, made notations, and she even made up lesson plans for the next few days. Once she was completed, she walked over to the bed and pulled the covers up. She sat down and then laid back and covered herself. She looked up at the ceiling as Amora, her cat, jumped onto the bed beside her and cuddled up. Graciela pet her and eventually fell asleep.
The Next Day: Students Arrive The next morning came abrubtly, sunlight beaming through the window and awakening her at seven in the morning. She looked around the room. Patria had not returned with a response from Marcos yet, and Amora was still cuddled on the bed next to her. She moved slightly and sat up in bed, wiping the sleep from her eyes. She yawn heavily and said, "Ugh, ay, ay, ay..." She stood and looked out the window. The groundskeeper was already up. Graciela walked to her trunk and pulled out a set of tannish colored robes and closed the curtains to her window. She pulled her clothes on and opened the curtains again. Afterwards she combed her hair. She put Amora in her cage and locked it and then walked from the room.
She walked down to the Great Hall where a few other professors were standing. She smiled and nodded at them, her blonde hair was still a mess. She spoke to the flying professor about this year was probably going to be the best for Quidditch, and she spoke to the potions professor about potions that she had studied in school. She seemed to be a person that was somewhat popular in an unpopular way.
Finally the evening came. The students had arrived off of the boats and the carriages, and now the great hall was filling with second through seventh year students. Most of them were chatting, but a few looked at her and pointed, most of them were male students. She hated being a pretty Hispanic Veela <(^_^)> She just smiled to herself and sipped water from her goblet.
The first years came in with the deputy headperson. Graciela stood and did the calling of names in alphabetical order accoring to last name. She got to the last name, and the hat took forever to sort the girl. Finally, once it was done, the deputy took the hat and stoll from the front of the room. Now it was time for the beginning of the year feast. She smiled at all of them. She spoke, and her voice had the thick Spanish accent, but it formed the English words perfectly. "Let the feasy begin." She said and took a seat. She ate food and chatted with professors about students that seemed as if they would be troublemakers or students that would do well. Finally it was time for the speech. But first, she was to be introcuded by the deputy headperson that had been there for several years.
"Welcome to Hogwarts, fellow friends, staff members, and students both old and new. I would like to introduce to you the new Headmistress, Señora Graciela Andrea Álvarez de Garzón. You are to address her as Professor Garzón or as Headmistress Garzón." the deputy said and then took a seat. She nodded at Graciela to stand. She did and started her small speech.
"Bienvenido a Hogwarts!" She said in Spanish and then did a quick translation to English. "Welcome to Hogwarts, students. I am pleased to be your headmistress. Uh, I will allow you to call me Headmistress Garzón, Professor Garzón, Profesora Garzón, Señora Garzón, Señora GG...Missus GG...Or you can call me Graciela if you want. It does not make a difference to me, to be completely honest." She looked at them, studying their faces and pressing on. "As most of you should know, the Forbidden Forest is off limits to all of you, and you are not to be out after hours. Also, no magic in the halls or brewing potions in the bathroom sinks either. Now, off to bed you trot, for we have a long day or magical learning tomorrow. Buenos noches! Good night!" She said and the room filled with a small applause and then a ruckus of people tryig to leave the room; a few were in no hurry to leave.
After the room had emptied, she left with the professors and they all went separate ways to their offices. She went to hers, another night of being exhausted, and fell asleep immediately. As she slept, Patria came back and landed on her head with a note from Marcos. Graciela jumped quickly as the owl had landed on her head, and she disattached the letter from the owl's leg and put her in her cage with a dead mouse. She read the letter and went to sleep without writing a response. That was for her free period the next day, now it was time for sleep.
