The bushy brunette haired girl walked aimlessly until reaching large mahogany doors and strolled into the grand room, also known as the Hogwarts library. Inhaling sharply she made her way to a table in the back of the large room by the Transfiguration section. Though so many students passed though its doors the smell never changed it always smelled of fresh new books. Though sometimes she had come here as a place of refuge like her third year at Hogwarts, the grand library was always a place of comfort or refuge.
Hermione had come to the Library to be alone with her thoughts. Her best friends, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, were both down at the Quidditch field practicing for the upcoming game the coming up weekend. While the Gryffindor was friends with quidditch loving boys, she herself found the sport pointless. All it did was cause rivarly between the houses at Hogwarts. Her happiness also did not depend on whether or not her house won the game. However, the bushy haired girl could always be found at the games cheering on her housemates as they flew this way and that.
Pulling out her Intermediate Transfiguration book a quill an inkpot and some parchment Hermione quickly set to work. Unraveling her footlong parchment she dipped her brand new dark green quill into small glass pot filled with black ink and began to chew upon the tip of the quill. Hermione thought about all she knew on the subject then began to write. The essay only had to be a foot and a half long. However, Hermione always thought it was better to put more information then needed, to show she put effort into her schoolwork. While the essay for Professor McGonagall was not due until the following week, she wanted a headstart on her work. The essay was upon Human Transfiguration, something the sixth year girl had only read and heard about.
A few seconds later, after racking her brain for any information she may have stored, Hermione dipped her quill into the pot once more and began to jot down a few lines.
Dangers of Human Transfiguration
Transfiguration is a complex and precise brand of magic. To many people this brand of magic is difficult to understand but once it is learned it becomes a part of everyday life. One branch of Transfiguration is Human Transfiguration. However, without knowledge prior to transfiguring humans into objects or animals the results can be hazardous.
Hermione paused and began to bite on her quill. It was a bad habit she had picked up on day in Arithamncy. Her brain had been stuck on one particular problem and she just bit down on her quill. It followed her to this day. Whenever she was in deep thought, Hermione could be found biting her quill. Realizing what she was doing she stood up and went to a ten shelf bookcase, running her short nails over the books.
She had a book in mind, one that was based around her essay's subject. Human Transfiguration by Adelaide Mixxe was the title. Hermione snorted aloud at uncreativity of the books title. Her face drooped into a frown, eyebrows furrowed in concentration. Already on the 8 row and the book was no where to be found. If it wasn't in the Library she didn't know where else to look. Suddenly her thoughts were broken by a cold voice. Oh no, Hermione thought masking her annoyance and fustration with a calm face.
