Classes were over for the day, and her homework was finished...well, nearly. The last few paragraphs of her HoM essay could wait a few hours. At this moment in time all Ren could think about was wet paint on rough canvas. So, with several brushes tucked into the bun at the back of her head, she headed down to the lake. After sitting down, she placed a white canvas against a rock and stopped staring out over the lake.
THe surrounding mountains echoed their brilliance upon its surface, making it look like its glassy waters stretched out into them and rolled up like unrelenting waves. The sun, still stubbornly positioned in a sky of quick coming dusk set down a million tiny stars on the water, making it dance and sparkle in its radiance. Ren breathed in the sight, feeling it warm her from head to toe and further aggrivate her urge to capture this moment.
Feeling behind her head she pulled out a rather small bristled brush, dipped it into a small black bottle with a large mouth on it and pulled it out, revealing a light yellow goo on the tip. Slowly she sketched out her view, looking up occasionally to adjust her proportions. Finally satisfied she touched her brush to the side of her ink bottle and dipped it in, pulling out a brilliant orange goo on the tip this time. Several times she repeated the action, finally blocking in all of the colors she needed and placing the brush back into her messy bun, then pulled out an even smaller brush.
After adding several small details and signing her picture she smiled with satisfaction thick upon her lips. Pulling out her wand she held it an inch above the canvas face, said a small drying spell and in minutes had it on her lap. Absentmindedly Renee ran her hands over the now dried paint, loving the texture under her fingers and following her gaze over the horizon and into the ever darkening sky.
